An evening for the Canadian Wool Campaign

On Thursday, November 6th, we had the honor of hosting an evening in partnership with Campaign for Wool Canada at the ça va de soi boutique on Greene Avenue.
The goal of this gathering was to bring together passionate local artisans from diverse backgrounds, from sheep farmers to spinners. Researchers and professors from our textile schools in Montreal, as well as government representatives, were also on the guest list.
A true human adventure, woven with exchanges, creativity, and passion... This event aimed to promote wool and highlight its many sustainable benefits.

The CEO of the Canadian Wool Council, Matthew Rowe, was present to accompany the screening of the short film Fabrics of Canada - Montréal en laine, a work celebrating the expertise and creativity surrounding the world of wool.

A practical workshop, presented by Elizabeth Flautero, manager of the Spa for Knits — çava bain, also allowed us to exchange tips on maintenance, and the many ways to repair your knits, in order to optimize their lifespan and promote more sustainable consumption.

Our common love for this extraordinary fibre, wool, allowed us to exchange ideas and rediscover its countless benefits.

A silent auction was also held to raise funds to support future generations of wool shearers in Canada. A heartfelt thanks to Haut Beau and Milo & Dexter for their participation in the auction.

This collaboration highlighted local expertise and underscored the importance of this eco-responsible fiber with its many benefits, contributing to a more sustainable future for the textile industry.
